Lexus has chosen to keep the same engine menu in place for the 2021 IS family that was available for the 2020 IS lineup.
The IS 300 has a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine, that will make 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Buyers choosing the IS 300 with all-wheel-drive will have a 3.5-liter, V-6 under the hood that will make 260 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. An IS 350 will use the same V-6 engine as the previous Lexus IS version, but it is tuned to make 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. An eight- or six-speed automatic transmission will be attached to each engine, depending on if it employs rear or all-wheel-drive.
Finally, each 2021 Lexus IS will have an electronically controlled top speed of 143 miles per hour.
Versions of the 2021 Lexus IS with rear-wheel-drive will be able to achieve at least 20 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Versions of the IS with all-wheel-drive can post 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
All 2021 Lexus IS models will be equipped with a smartphone-compatible infotainment system that will be centered around an 8-inch touchscreen. This will include access to the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ suites of applications. Other device integrations include Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
